A wide variety of dental plans are available from Anthem Blue Cross.  Regular dental care is very important to one's overall health.  Anthem Blue Cross offers Dental Blue PPO Plans, Dental SelectHMO Plans, and Individual Dental PPO Plans.

The Dental Blue PPO plans offer a wide choice of coverage and network options. There are approximately 20,000 Dental Blue dental provider locations and when you visit them there is usually no charge for preventive and diagnostic services.  You are also allowed to see dentists outside the network but the greatest savings will be when you use Dental Blue providers.  Anthem Blue Cross has  negotiated fees with Dental Blue providers and you can take advantage of the rates even if you reach the annual maximum benefit.

Dental Select HMO(SM) plans offer no annual deductibles, no annual maximums, and even no waiting periods for most services.  There is only a $5 per office visit charge for exams, cleanings, and x-rays. You are only allowed to receive services from participating dentists.

Individual Dental PPO plans allow you to visit approximately 12,000 participating network dentist locations, or a non-participating dentist.  However you will usually save money by visiting a dental provider that is inside the network.  With Individual Dental PPO Plans, there are no charges for preventive and diagnostic services when you see a provider inside the network.  Basic dental care such as fillings and extractions and major dental care such as root canals, inlays, crowns, and dentures are covered for reasonable co-pays.
